The Trendy Tote is completely adjustable handbag, designed to work with novelty fabrics and machine embroidery. Although it can be made any size, the standard finished measurements are 11” tall X 12” wide.
This pattern can go from Handbag to Tote Bag with an option for outside pockets that makes it easy to use as a Diaper Bag. The interior has a variety of pockets for storage and can be customized to make the perfect bag for your needs. The instructions include one zippered pocket, two utility pockets, one cell pohone pocket, and room for lipstick or pen pockets too.
The Trendy Tote is a fun place to use beaded fringe, tassels, or feathers, or combinations of trims. Add your own look with details such as bamboo handles, or purse feet.
Materials Needed:
- Body of Bag: 1/3 yd for all over designs or 1/2 yd for one way designs or scenes
- Band and Straps: 1/4 yd
- Contrast Pockets: 1/4 yd
- Lining: 1 yd
- Interfacing: 3/4 yd for 42" heavy wt. fusible interfacing or 1 1/2 yd for 24" heavy wt. fusible interfacing
- Trim: 3/4 yd of bead, tassels, gimp or flat braid
- Magnetic snap
- 7" zipper
- 8 or 10 grommets
- Belt buckle 2" or 3"
- 2" drapery crinoline for making your own belt
