The Peak Pack is a perfect town bag backpack pattern and is roomy without being bulky for everyday use. There are multiple pockets both inside and out and this pattern is a great way to show off matching or contrasting fabrics! Finished size is 12" x 12". Full pattern pieces are included for the main bag and the front pocket.
Materials Needed:
- 1/2 yd of main fabric (45" wide)
- 1 yd of lining fabric - this is enough to do both inside pockets as well as the lining
- 1/3 yd of 45" wide fabric for the straps - this can be added to any of the other fabric amounts. If you prefer webbing, you will need 3 yds of 1" to 1 1/4".
- 2 different fabrics of the outside pockets, one fat quarter for each.
- 1/2 yd of 45" fusible fleece
- 1 yd of 45" heavy fusible interfacing (Decorbond, etc.). Do not use the ultra heavy used for fabric bowls!
- 1/4 yd of lightweight fusible interfacing for the front gathered pocket - Decorbond is too heavy for the gathered pocket!
- 18" wide tooth purse zipper (separating zipper is o.k.)
- 7" zipper for th back outside pocket
- 7" zipper for the inside zippered pocket
- 4 - 1" or 1 1/4" D rings
- 2 flat (1" to 1 1/4") buttons for reinforcing the top of the straps
- 1 yd of 1/4" elastic for the outside pocket
