Easy to make hands free backpack with an inner pocket for your cell phone, keys, and wallet. The patterns for applique and embroidery are also included, as well as instructions for pieced and beaded versions of the back sack. Finished size is 18" x 14" but this pattern is easily resized.
Materials Needed:
- Basic Back Sack - 1/2 yd outer fabric
- 1/2 yd lining
- fat quarter for pocket
- 4 yds parka cording
- Pieced and Beaded Back Sack - Outer fabric and pocket: at least 3 fat quarters, plus scraps of 2 other fabrics
- 1/2 yd lining material
- 1/2 yd beaded fringe
- 2 buttons
- Applique Flowers - Same as basic sack plus
- scraps for flowers and leaves (5" x 5")
- Mini-single fold bias tape for stems
- Threads for zig zag stitch
- Embroidered Trellis - Same as basic back sack plus
- Embroidery thread (brown, green, red, white, or as desired)
- Embroidery needle and hoop
