Everybody here at Henrietta's Handbags is at full steam - we are hard at work adding new purse patterns, finishing up a new site (more on that to come!), and I personally am learning new computer software!

Retro Floral Lunch Bag

This is a tote made specifically to carry your lunch with a special waterproof interior, 2 open pockets, a comfortable double handle, and a secure top zipper. There is a matching bow on the front and a small zippered case is included. Measurements are 12" x 8 1/2" x 4".

This convertible diaper bag pattern can be worn either slung over the shoulder or across the back for hands free comfort! There are instructions for lots of pockets inside and out and matching changing pad directions are included. Finished size is 15" wide x 13" high x 5" deep.

Here is another version of the Tulip Purse. This pattern is by the same Designer (Anything But Boring Designs) but has a longer (adjustable) handle and 2 flap options.

Long Stemmed Tulip Purse Pattern

The Long-Stemmed Tulip Purse Pattern is available in 2 different sizes and has a long adjustable shoulder strap. There are instructions for a pocket under the flap and on the back and this bag doesn't tip over and spill your contents! Finished size is 7" x 7" square bottom, 6" H X 11" width at the top for the Small bag and square bottom is 8" x 8", 8" H and 13" wide at the top for the Regular bag.

In Memory of Laurel Burch

Laurel Burch began creating her mythical cats, dogs, horses, and spiritual entities in the mid-sixties and is most recognized for her imaginative cats and vivid colors. This self-taught artist began her journey as a child. During frequent hospitalizations because of a rare bone condition, she started making small gifts to cheer up the other patients and as a "thank you" to the Nursing staff. Laurel started collecting bones, beads, and rocks to put together in special ways to make her own jewelry. When someone would admire or comment on these unique jewelry pieces, she would offer them as gifts to the admirer.

Her handbags grew out of this love of mythical figures and bold patterns. The dog purses, cat handbags, and other mythical animal bags have made her world famous.

Her life is best described in a direct quote from this spiritual woman who gave so much to others: "The purpose of my art is to inspire living from the heart. I want to create in a way that celebrates life in the most intimate and precious ways possible, for ourselves and for each other".

This month marks the 2nd anniversary of her death but her dream lives on through her inspirational designs!
