The Butterfly Backpack pattern is great for those just starting out in embellishment with clear instructions for hand beading and beading by machine. This pattern is for intermediate sewers.
The finished bag measures 8 1/2" x 10 1/2".
Materials Needed:
- Main Fabric: 1/2 yd 60" for 1 yd 45" Denim color fabric
- Lining: 1 yd 45" solid or theme related print fabric
- Fusible interfacing: 1/2 yd
- Batting: 1/2 yd x 60" wide
- 6" elastic, 1/4" to 1/2" wide
- 1 yd of 1" wide Nylon web (strapping), 2 - 1" D rings, 2 strap adjusters
- Petals, leaves, and butterfly: 5 to 10 pieces of fabric in various colors 1/8 yd pieces or fat 1/4's are excellent
- Decorative threads to match and contrast your appliques.
- Paper backed fusible webbing: 1/2 yd (light weight)
- Stabilizer: 1/4 yd (stitch and tear type)
- Assorted beads
- Chalf pencil
- Light weight pressing sheet - muslin works fine
